Devon, Alberta — The Canadian Energy Museum: Home of Leduc #1 has launched a dynamic new permanent exhibit, The ART of Reclamation, spotlighting the innovation, expertise, and dedication that define Alberta’s reclamation community.
Supported by contributions from the Modern Miracle Network (MMN) and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), the exhibit features more than a dozen interactive artworks portraying real reclamation sites and the evolution of reclamation practices across the province. The installation celebrates the industry’s commitment to environmental stewardship and continuous improvement.
Located at the historic Leduc #1 site—where Alberta’s modern energy story began in 1947—the museum continues its mission to preserve and share the legacy of Canada’s energy workers. Under the leadership of Board Chair Brigitte Nowicki, the museum has revitalized its operations and safeguarded its future, ensuring that over 5,000 artifacts and countless stories remain accessible for generations.
Visitors can explore life-size equipment displays, immersive historical scenes, and now, a vibrant artistic tribute to reclamation excellence. Families are encouraged to stop by, learn about Alberta’s energy history, and pick up Adventures in Reclamation by Tanya Richens in the museum gift shop.
